Snowdrop..edm 209 draw a shadow

It is the first spring flower. Clumps of the white snowdrops are growing at the bottom of my garden and I have picked a little bunch and put them in my kitchen window.
It was interesting to draw as it really makes you see this pretty flower. The delicate little green stem holding the white drooping flower head. The three petals and then the little cup shaped centre with the pretty green markings. A simple flower yet it holds such promises that spring is on the way.
It made a lovely shaped shadow, my edm challenge 209 draw a shadow. It is drawn using a HB pencil. Press for larger image.

beautiful!! When I lived in Michigan I remember just how excited I was to see ANY life sprouting from the ground. I was raised in Southern California and the long cold winter almost did me in!
Great work!

Oh that's really lovely. Beautiful.

I can see some snowdrops from a window at work in the wood over the lake (yeah I'm lucky!) and I'm dying to go and have a proper look at them.

What a beautiful drawing of a snowdrop ! It's always such a thrill to see the first signs that winter is coming to its end, I fear that's some way off here in Sweden, but I have bought some primulas to have on my kitchen table to brighten my day ! Lovely work, you are so inspiring X Eleanor

Hello Milly,

It is lovely to see that snowdrop and its graceful shadow done with such delicacy.

I have seen lots of snowdrops abloom in Central Park already. It is such a delight to see an entire bank of those brave beauties.

I am home with a bad cold today, having late lunch of soup and enjoying catching up with friends like you.

Best wishes. xo
