Go for a Nature Walk EDM63 Draw what you find

This is what I do on a regular basis. As I live in the countryside everyday is a nature walk. I notice things as I'm walking ,and if I like the shape of something it more often than not finds its way home with me to draw.I noticed this delicate piece of fern ,as it is drying out and turning brown, it curls around. It is drawn in pencil. I like the shape, it is elegant and delicate, which is what I liked when I first saw it.

Hi, just come across your blog via Andrea Joseph comment you left, and I just wanted to say, your work is lovely, I love the ferns. This time of year is a great time for fens, just unfurling and bright green. You have captured this perfectly.

Very elegant and delicate indeed. It's just beautiful. I wish I could see it bigger - I imagine it's stunning close-up.

Beautifully done, my only complaint is that I couldn't see a larger image.

Lovely feather drawings too.

this fern is wonderful, Milly. I love the promise in the fern frond's curl, spring-loaded, ready to live.

I still can't get over how life like your drawings are the feathers and oak leaf, incredible.

I grew up near an estuary and in our last house one of the windows in my bedroom looked over my favourite part to walk. It is something I miss, if you are used to hearing the estuary birds and walking on it in the wind and rain you always feel something is missing where-ever else you live.

Beautiful work! Your drawings remind of illustrations from a plant identification guide, only so much better!
