I sometimes feel so sorry for snails, most peole want to kill them . I actually like them, they are fascinating to watch as they peep out of their shells and then slide along. I find them to be really elegant in their movements and admire the way they can walk up walls. They have great patterns on their shells. I made mine pinky colours using inks and a paint brush, of course they are really browns. They were drawn from observations of the real live snails, so thought this fit the challenge. Press on the picture to see them close up.

FANTASTIC!!! All the details are just perfect!!
Very, VERY cool! Great response to the 'something alive' challenge. Beautifully observed.
Stunning drawing!
Simply lovely - and the pattern on their skin is perfection. Great composition too.
I love your snails, they look as if they could fit into so many settings, and the colors are marvelous.
Also thanks for the reminder to stop and look at the little things!
Oh Eileen these are AMAZING! Wow, love the composition and the colour of the inks. Just amazing!!

W o n d e r f u l, both, the drawing a n d composition!
I did have a spot for them until they and the slugs chomped their way through all of my pumpkin plants this year. Alec was most un-impressed. We now have ducks to hopefully resolve the problem.
The drawings are wonderful though and even more so because they are snails without their bite.
i'm always trying to save them, when i see one i take it and hide it somewhere in the garden so cannot be seen cause i know its destiny. Last night, my dog was playing with something, what was it, yes a live snail, so i took it, still safe, then put it on a tree. if they eat plants, isn't what they're suppose to do? Don't we eat plants too? By the way, you've done a terrific job with these ones, and the colour you chose gives a perfect scene. Great job!
These are beautiful! Those curvy lines on their shells and the gentle way their heads are sticking out of the shells. Great observations.
