Grey like the day

It is a very grey day with low hanging clouds. There is no view of the hills, just grey in every direction. It is so dark indoors, not good for drawing or for photographing this latest drawing. I collected these leaves, they are very dark on the front and this silvery grey on the back of the leaf. I used blue, white, brown and yellow to mix the shades, using the acrylic inks. The red rose hip berries just glowed against the leaves. I loved the delicate shapes of the leaves, the heat of the room has made them fold up even more.
I have collected lots of red berries, they will brighten up this grey day. Press as usual for close up.
Love to hear your comments, thank you. I am going to have a give away, leave a comment and a natural object you would like me to draw. I will pick the winner on Friday 13th November, lucky for someone, as I will draw that object for them and send it to them as a gift.

Gorgeous drawing, as always! I also love the leaves as they curl up - makes it so interesting to render. And the berries are so bright and smooth in contrast. Lovely.

The giveaway sounds terrific! A natural object that I would choose would be a seed pod of some kind.

Thanks!
Carol

I have just discovered your blog recently and I have been really enjoying your drawings. For the giveaway, I think I would choose oak leaves and/or acorns.

I have been lured out of lurkerdom by the prospect of winning a drawing - I would choose a feather - but I want to say thank you for the quiet delight that I feel whenever I see that there is a new post.

Hi Milly, another lovely artwork - I like the way you have photographed the actual leaves and berries alongside your painting.

For the giveaway - any leaf and fruit/seed combo appeals to me.

I love the silver grey and red combination. I wonder if you would like to draw pine cones?

Milly, this comment is completely made with a lot of desire for being one of the winners! I won't hide it! So please, count me in :)
Best regards,

I love all your drawings as you know so choosing one theme is very tricky.

I think I would choose the same as Heather, acorns and oak leaves.

omg, I forgot to include the object: seashells and/or fern sprouts. I love the spirals of baby ferns :)

I agree that the silvery leaves really make those berries pop. Lovely drawing!
For the give-away, I suppose if I had to choose one thing it would be a feather. But really all of your drawings are so wonderful.
